Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s 51st movie has been titled as Kavalkaran . The movie is the tamil remake of Malayalam movie Body Guard. Directed by Siddique, Kavalkaran features Vijay and Asin in the lead roles. Vijay will play the role done by Dileep while Asin is going to do Nayanthara’s role in the Malayalam original. Director Siddique has made some minor changes in the Tamil version to suit Vijay’s style. Vijay was shown the preview of the movie along with his wife earlier and Vijay liked the script and immediately expressed his wish to remake it in Tamil. Body Guard is a romantic comedy and a family entertainer with sentiments too. Director Siddique says, “Actually when I narrated Bodyguard story to Vijay two years back he was very keen to do it first in Tamil, but I always try out my films in Malayalam then only I will do in other languages.” Siddique and Vijay worked together long back for their film Friends, which was also a Malayalam film in original. Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s son Sanjay who made an impressive debut in the song sequence Naan Adichaa Thangamatte… in Vettaikaran is said to be once again doing a film with his dad. The grapevine has it that Sanjay is making a cameo appearance as the son of the character played by Vijay in the climax of his under production Siddique directed Kavalkaran. The shooting of the film is taking place in Kumbakonam.

As known earlier, Kavalkaran is a remake of Malayalam film Bodyguard (Dileep and Nayantara in lead roles). The film is directed by Siddique and marks the comeback of Asin in Tamil film industry. Here are the some onlocation images of Kavalkaran

Vijay’s 51st movie Kavalkaran shooting is currently going on in full swing in Karaikkudi and Kumbakonam regions of Tamil nadu. Vijay and Asin along the other crew members are shooting for the introductory song and some important sequences of the film at these locations. Raj Kiran plays Asin dad’s role in the film. The latest news we hear from the crew is that Roja will pair up with Raj Kiran to play Asin mom’s mom. The other cast of Kavalkaran includes Vadivelu, and MS Bhaskar while music for the film has been scored by Vidyasagar. Siddique and Vijay worked together long back for their film Friends, which was also a Malayalam film in original.

Sources say that Vijay has expressed his interest in acting in the Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’ starring Aamir Khan. Vijay has apparently shown much interest in the remake in Tamil, which will be directed by ‘Billa’ director Vishnuvardhan. Sources say that Vijay would do Aamir's role in the movie. Vishnu has been having a bad outing ever since his ‘Sarvam’ starring Arya and Trisha bombed at the box office. He would hope to revive his record with the remake of ‘3 Idiots’. Sources say that Vishnu will modify the subject according to tastes of the Tamil audience. Sources reveal that the Tamil remake rights of ‘3 Idiots’ have been bought by Gemini Film Circuit, who have remade many hit movies in the past, including 'Vasool Raja', the remake of ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’.
