Vijay's Thupakki shaping up well

With Nanban starring Vijay, Jeeva andSrikanth making it big, Vijay is obviously the happy man. It is three-in-a-row now -Kavalan, Velayudham and Nanban.   Thrilled at his multi-starrer becoming a huge hit, the actor says that he is ready to do multi-starrers in future. Vijay says, ' Why not? It all depends on the script, irrespective of other aspects.'   Queried about his next Thuppaki with A R Murugadoss, he says, ' So far, so good! We had a 35-day shooting schedule at Mumbai. It was predominantly on the roads and in some of the houses near the Sea link. Everywhere we went, hundreds of people gathered to watch the shooting. Thuppaki first look to be revealed soon

Ilayathalapathy Vijay are celebrating their idol's grandeur victory with Shankar's Nanban . As we speak , works are on full swing to unveil the first look of A.R.Murugadoss 's Thuppaki which will feature Vijay in a new avatar. According to the insider report , the first look will be unveiled on February 1st which will be loved by every section.It is said that Vijay will play the role of a military officer while Sathyan who brought the roof down in Nanban will do the role of a friend. The crew has completed 35 days of schedule in mumbai and will join once again very soon.Interestingly,the movie is reported to be a quickie and the crew is working in day and night that will make Thuppaki hit the screens for this April.

Vijay Buys Nanban

It's almost like a revolution happening down here in small screens. The usual scenario of the satellite rights of big tickets being sold to leading channels with a political connection seems to have changed now. Vijay TV has been striking at its best and has had a gradual growth gaining good TRPs. The innovative shows both in aspects of fiction and non-fiction turned to become the major attraction. Apparently, the star network started buying satellite rights of big tickets that were once piece of chocolate for the other leading channels. Having bagged the big movies of all times, Vijay TV has now acquired the rights of Shankar's 'Nanban' starring Vijay, Ileana, Srikanth, Jeeva and Sathyaraj in lead roles.

Vijay-Asin together again

Asin, who moved to Bollywood in 2008, is likely to make a comeback to Tamil cinema this year. She has reportedly been signed for the Vijay's movie which is the remake of Malayalam hit 'Bodyguard' starring Dileep and Nayantara. Sivaraju Venkatraju, who last made 'Priymanavale' with Vijay in 2000 will produce this new film. Siddique who directed the original will direct the Tamil version also. Siddique and Vijay combination earlier rocked in the comedy riot ‘Friends’. For Asin this film is a sort of comeback to Tamil. After her first Hindi film ‘Ghajini’ with Aamir Khan becoming super hit, her next film ‘London Dreams’ with Salman Khan bombed. So she is desperate to keep her top star status and image intact. But of course Asin never said she will not do a Tamil film after moving to Bollywood. Asin and Vijay pair was very successful with films like 'Pokkiri' and 'Sivakasi' doing wonders at the box office. Raj Kiran and Roja in Kavalkaran

The Vijay-Asin starrer Kavalkaran went on floors recently and shooting is going on in full swing in Karaikudi region in Tamil Nadu. Director Siddique has roped in several well-established actors and actresses to play important roles in the film. Earlier, Raj Kiran was signed up to play Asin’s dad in the film. The news now is that Roja will pair up with Raj Kiran to play the leading lady’s mom. This means, Raj Kiran and Roja will be Vijay’s parents-in-law in Kavalkaran.

Kaavalkaran title changed to Kaavalan

Vijay’s new film with Siddique has gone for a title change for the third time. When the film started had the MGR film title ‘Kaavalkaran’ hoping to cash in on the ever green popularity of MGR films. But when the original producers of the MGR movie Sathya Movies objected, the title was changed to ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’. But the second title did not find encouraging reactions from even among Vijay fans. So now the title has been again changed to ‘Kaavalan’. Another major development with the film according to sources is that director Shakthi Chidambaram has purchased the film lock stock and barrel including its negative rights. This sudden development has taken many by surprise. When most of the Tamil community is up in arms against the film because of Asin and the overseas business is in threat, Shakthi Chidambaram’s move is being viewed with mixed reaction.
