Vijay Is ‘Bodyguard’ For Super Good Films

Actor Vijay has always found to have special connection with producer RB Choudary of Super Good Films. The duo has churned out a stupendous spell of success in the past and has come forth to join hands again now.Yes, it’s official that Super Good Films will produce Vijay’s next film that happens to be a remake of recent Malayalam release ‘Bodyguard’. The film features Dhilip and Nayanthara in lead roles and is directed by none other than Siddique – maker of evergreen comedy entertainer ‘Friends’.As of now, Vijay is completely occupied with Sura and will soon join hands with Jeyam Raja’s next untitled direct film produced by Aascar Ravichandran…

VIJAY AND PRABHU DEVA THINK ALIKE!

The success of the Malayalam flick Bodyguard has caught the attention of many. While Vijay is keen on working in the Tamil version, there are reports that Boney Kapoor could lap up the rights to remake the film in Hindi. This has given rise to the speculation that Prabhu Deva could direct the film with Salman Khan in the lead. It is important to mention here that the Salman-Prabhu combo in Wanted worked out very well at the box office and the duo decided to join once again for the sequel which was tentatively titled Most Wanted. However, with Bodyguard in picture, this project seems to have been shelved for now.Jayam Ravi is currently busy donning the greasepaint for the Ameer-directed Kannabiran. Soon after completing this assignment he is expected to begin work with Prabhu Deva. The Salman project will kick start only after Prabhu completes this assignment, we hear.

Vijay-Asin together again

Asin, who moved to Bollywood in 2008, is likely to make a comeback to Tamil cinema this year. She has reportedly been signed for the Vijay's movie which is the remake of Malayalam hit 'Bodyguard' starring Dileep and Nayantara. Sivaraju Venkatraju, who last made 'Priymanavale' with Vijay in 2000 will produce this new film. Siddique who directed the original will direct the Tamil version also. Siddique and Vijay combination earlier rocked in the comedy riot ‘Friends’. For Asin this film is a sort of comeback to Tamil. After her first Hindi film ‘Ghajini’ with Aamir Khan becoming super hit, her next film ‘London Dreams’ with Salman Khan bombed. So she is desperate to keep her top star status and image intact. But of course Asin never said she will not do a Tamil film after moving to Bollywood. Asin and Vijay pair was very successful with films like 'Pokkiri' and 'Sivakasi' doing wonders at the box office. Raj Kiran and Roja in Kavalkaran

The Vijay-Asin starrer Kavalkaran went on floors recently and shooting is going on in full swing in Karaikudi region in Tamil Nadu. Director Siddique has roped in several well-established actors and actresses to play important roles in the film. Earlier, Raj Kiran was signed up to play Asin’s dad in the film. The news now is that Roja will pair up with Raj Kiran to play the leading lady’s mom. This means, Raj Kiran and Roja will be Vijay’s parents-in-law in Kavalkaran.

Kaavalkaran title changed to Kaavalan

Vijay’s new film with Siddique has gone for a title change for the third time. When the film started had the MGR film title ‘Kaavalkaran’ hoping to cash in on the ever green popularity of MGR films. But when the original producers of the MGR movie Sathya Movies objected, the title was changed to ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’. But the second title did not find encouraging reactions from even among Vijay fans. So now the title has been again changed to ‘Kaavalan’. Another major development with the film according to sources is that director Shakthi Chidambaram has purchased the film lock stock and barrel including its negative rights. This sudden development has taken many by surprise. When most of the Tamil community is up in arms against the film because of Asin and the overseas business is in threat, Shakthi Chidambaram’s move is being viewed with mixed reaction.
