Last week, actor Vijay visited the localities and people badly affected by the recent 'Thane' storm which hit the coastal belt of Tamil Nadu damaging properties worth crores of rupees in the U.T. of Puducherry. Storms are a rare phenomenon in Tamil Nadu but the change appears to be changing of late. The State Government's relief and rehabilitation and disaster management departments are working overtime to ensure that the relief material including food, clothing and shelter provided by the Government are reached to the affected people in Cuddalore. However, there are some who criticize the government for not doing 'enough' relief work to mitigate the sufferings of the poor. Vijay visited Cuddalore recently with the office-bearers of his fans' club in the U.T. Akon Vijay who is happy and excited with the response for his latest release "Nanban" is working round the clock for his next movie "Thuppaki" which is directed by AR Murugadoss, with so much expectation from the movie already, we hear American Singer Akon is to do playback singing for the movie. Harris Jayaraj, the music composer for the film who worked with Vijay in his last release "Nanban" in which the songs are already a chartbuster, is trying to re-create the magic again, now with the international star in his team. Akon, who already worked in Bollywood for "Ra 1", is now going to work in Kollywood for the first time along with Harris Jayaraj. The shooting for the movie which is going on at full speed, is expected to be completed and screened by June 2012. Thuppaki, apart from Vijay, it has Kajal Agarwal, Sathyan and others working with him in this movie.  

Illayathalapathy Vijay is gloriously celebrating the success of Nanban. He recently called for a press meet to announce formally that his film is doing well at the box office. And the celebration continued over the weekend with the star throwing a bash for his celebrity friends to share the joy of success.   To celebrate the film's success he threw a big bash at his place for the rest of the cast and crew. Shankar, Resul Pookutty,Srikanth, and Jeeva were present. Vijay'swife, Sangeetha was the perfect hostess and she charmed everyone with her attentiveness and warm persona.   Vijay is holding a success party for the media today (Jan 20) evening.Jeeva who was busy shooting for his Mugamoodi tweeted- 'Had a get together cine success party at Vj anna's place.Nanban team had a blast and fun filled time'.
