Since the film Vettaikaran became a great hit, Vijay thanked the Sun Group President Kalanidhi Maaran. Sun Pictures has released the film Vettaikaran. Vijay and Anushka have done the lead roles. The film was released last Friday and is doing well at the box office with the support of his fans throughout Tamil Nadu. So Vijay along with his father S A Chandrasekaran came to Sun TV office. He met Kalanidhi Maaran and gave him a bouquet and thanked him. His father adorned him with a shawl. Vijay then speaking to the media said,’ Of all the films I have acted, this film has given a very big opening. The credit goes to Sun Pictures. I have thanked Kalanidhi because of this. After Vettaikaran I am acting in Sura now.”

What could be your expectation levels, when you’ve decided to watch Vijay’s film? An outmost entertainer that can be sparred even with realms of illogical aspects… Definitely, most of his previous films have lacked logics and yet engrossed the audiences with a racy screenplay and amusing ingredients. Sources have mentioned that the officials saw the film last evening and certified it with accordance to moderate violence. Setting aside reports that the release of Vijay starrer ‘Vettaikkaran’ may be delayed as a fire mishap at AVM Studios had damaged the sets erected for the movie, Sun Pictures, which had acquired the release rights of the film, has confirmed its release for Deepavali. "The film will no doubt hit the screens on Deepavali day. It's a right movie to see the light of the day on the day of lights. We will have a feast in store for Vijay fans," say reliable sources in the film production arm of the Sun TV Network. The film, directed by debutant Babu Sivan, is produced by AVM Balasubramanian and B Gurunath Meiyappan. After a role in the Tamil film ‘Rendu’ opposite Madhavan, Tollywood heroine Anushka is making her comeback in Tamil film industry with ‘Vettaikkaran’. The film’s audio launch is expected to happen on September 11th, as per the sources. It’s official that Suriya’s Aadhavan will take on (Sun Picture's) Vijay’s Vettaikaran, this Diwali! Abirami Mega Mall’s newspaper ads appearing on August 28, have clearly indicated that both the biggies are going to be their –“Grand Diwali Attraction”. A few days back, Vijay had said in an interview to a newspaper “Vettaikaran will release 100 percent on Diwali day 2009. It's racy entertainer which will be a treat to watch.
