Rumor mills have it that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will join hands with Vijaya Productions for a big budget film, which will go on floors after Vijay wraps his untitled venture with AL Vijay. An official announcement will be made by the production house only after they zero in on a top director to helm the project. Meanwhile Vijaya Productions will work with 'Siruthai' Siva and Thala Ajith for a film after Ajith finishes work on Vishnuvardhan's film. The production house is making a strong comeback, what with signing films with Ajith and Vijay, the two top stars of Tamil film industry.  

A.R. Murugadoss' next film Thuppakki with Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal is finally ready; it is heard that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will play the role of a cop. Vijay has earlier played the role of an undercover cop in Pokkiri, which went on to become one of the most successful films in his career. Cinematographer Santosh Sivan has now revealed that most of the shots in Thuppakki are canned with hidden cameras in real locations. So now it looks like the film will be a real treat for Kollywood fans. The latest is that the film is likely to grace theatres November 13, 2012.  

Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger (ETT) is already the second biggest blockbuster in Bollywood history and still it is only 10 days old at the box-office. There are already rumors about the Tamil and Telugu remakes of ETT. Generally Salman makes his films based on Southern hits but now it is the reverse as there is stiff competition to purchase ETT's Tamil remake rights. Editor Mohan has supposedly purchased the Tamil remake rights and his son Jayam Raja might direct this one, given his expertise in handling remakes. None other than Vijay might fill the shoes of Salman, as the Indian RAW agent sent on a mission to Ireland. Vijay and Raja have already worked together in Velayudham. Official updates are awaited on this. Till then the guessing game would continue.  

Although unofficial it was very much known to one and all that Yohan Adhyayam Ondru has been shelved, but both Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Gautham Menon remained tight lipped about this. Finally, Gautham opened up on this front. "To all those who have been asking, Yohan with Vijay is not happening. No film with Vijay now", he said. He also added that Vijay is doing a film with director AL Vijay post Thupaki and that he (Gautham) is currently busy with Neethanae En Ponvasantham. Following this the director is touted to start work on Thupariyum Anand with Suriya. It's said that there were differences of opinion between the director and the actor regarding the film and the duo decided to part ways amicably.  

SA Chandrasekar's Sattam Oru Iruttarai, which had Vijaykanth in the lead is now remade again which has been given a new title Thozhan. The film is produced by actor Vijay, who ventures in to production for the first time, alongside his father SAC. The film is said to be directed by Sneha, niece of Vijay. The movie stars Tharun Kumar, Reemma Sen, Bindhu Madhavai and Piyaa Bajpai in the lead. Only recently the crew went to Hong Kong to shoot some important scenes and song sequences. Vijay who seems to be participating in the production work, paid a surprise visit to the sets and the cast & crew members had fun with the actor. The movie has music by Vijay Anthony, cinematography by CJ Rajkumar and art by Vanaraj. The director told media that though they have retained the story, they have made some minor changes in the script to suit the current audience.  

Despite the Vijay starrer Thuppaki caught up in a legal wrangle, all works pertaining to the film is going on at breakneck speed. The film's music director Harris Jayaraj has announced recently that the film's music launch will happen during the mid-September and the audio will hit the stands around that time. There are six tracks in this album along with a theme track, said Harris. Thuppaki is directed by AR Murugadoss who has a string of hits under his belt till now and the film stars Vijay and Kajal Agarwal as the lead pair. It may be recalled that the film's title is sub judice with another filmmaker claiming that the title Thuppaki is so similar to his title Kalla Thuppaki.  

Vijay and Prabhu Deva became good friends after working in films like Pokkiri and Villu and continue to hang out. In fact, Vijay even shook a leg for Prabhu Deva's film Rowdy Rathore with Akshay Kumar. Currently, Vijay is working in Thuppaki and Prabhu Deva has started work on his next Hindi film with Shruti Haasan and Girish. Prabhu Deva was delighted when Vijay dropped in to visit him at his new house in Mumbai on sunday evening. The two buddies had a great time catching up with each other. We hope they are planning to work together on a film again. It will be a delightful treat for the fans.  

Vijay starrer Thuppaki has been witnessing one problem after anoither after it went to floors. Initially there were some troubles over the first look poster of the movie as a section of people including Pasumai Thayagam activitsts objected to Vijay appearing smoking a cigar . Then a title trouble followed and case was filed at a court in Chennai. Vijay fans are eager to know when the movie would hit the screens. Kalaipuli S Dhanu, the producer of Thupakki has announced that he will take a call on release date after the title issue matters are sorted out. Sources say that Thupakki might be Vijay's big solo Diwali release. The talkie portion of the film is over and only two songs remain to be shot. The first look promo of the film will come out shortly.  

Vijay's fans were expecting that there star's upcoming movie Thuppaki will have its trailer release on his birthday date. But much to there disappointment, sources say that the trailer release will be only in the first week of July. Thuppaki director AR Murugadoss, has replied to Vijay fans on Twitter and clarified that the trailer will be released ten days after the actor's birthday and requested them to cooperate with him. He tweeted, "New releases and Vijay sir's bday make June 22 big. Thuppaki teaser wil come after 10 days. Pls bear with us." The reason being the makers of Thuppaki has been cautious that the promotions may go unnoticed due to the release of Ajith's Billa 2 by next week, and Saguni hitting the screens this Friday.

Today June 22 is Ilayathalapathy Vijay`s birthday. The actor who was away from Chennai shooting for Thupakki has flown in for a day to celebrate his birthday. Vijay the humanitarian and social worker will be visiting the Child Trust Hospital in Egmore and giving gold rings to new born babies. The actor has been doing this for years, as he was born in this government hospital. Vijay is busy with his Thupakki and will go back to its location tomorrow. Santosh Sivan is on cloud nine. His Malayalam hit Urumi is all set to speak in Tamil as Pathinankam Nootrandu Uraival. The film stars Prabhudeva, Prathiviraj, Genelia, Vidya Balan among others.Santosh Sivan, an acclaimed cinematographer had proved his worth as filmmaker in this historic film. Meanwhile he has completed shooting forThuppaki. In the film directed by A R murugadoss, Santosh Sivan has let his lens to so al talking. After a long gap, he cranbks camera for a commercial entertainer featuring Vijay in the lead role. Says Santosh Sivan, 'I am happy to have worked with Murugadoss and Vijay. Both are perfectionists and they have given their best on screen'.  

It is no longer news that Ilayathalapathy Vijay and AL Vijay are coming together for a project. However, the project has now been titled 'Thalaivan' and will go on floors by the end of this year. It will be produced by Chandra Prakash Jain. 'Thalaivan' is touted to have the usual technicians of AL Vijay and is a commercial entertainer that will have music by GV Prakash, of course. However, buzz is that once 'Thupaki' is wrapped Vijay will focus on 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru' with Gautham Menon. The film will be completed by the end of the year following which 'Thalaivan' will go on floors. AL Vijay is currently busy with work on 'Thaandavam' that has Chiyaan Vikram in the lead.  

A R Murugadoss is one of the very few filmmakers, who have worked with the likes of actors like Ajith, Surya and Vijay. HisThuppaki starring Vijay is almost complete. Known for his racy action-packed ventures,Thuppaki too has a similar theme. The movie speaks about a cop who weeds out criminals from the society. Impressed with the story line, Vijay had given bulk dates for the film. He hit the gym hard and reduced his weight to play a tough cop. Carrying a national theme, major portion of the movie was shot in Mumbai and its adjoining areas.Kajal Agarwal plays Vijay's heroine in the film. Sources say that following reports of Thupppaki shaping up well, there is a mad rush in Bollywood to do the Hindi remake of the movie. Remember Murugadoss made Ghajini in Hindi with Aamir Khan in the lead. It was a bumper hit.  

What do superstar Rajinikanth and popular Tamil actor Vijay have in common? Both of them have had the PMK up in arms against them for smoking scenes in their films. As posters of Vijay's upcoming film 'Thuppakki' were plastered in some parts of Chennai showing him smoking, PMK - the party of former Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss - has shot off letters to the authorities condemning the violation of the ban on tobacco promotion. The protests have emanated from Pasumai Thayagam, the environmental wing of the Vanniyar-based PMK. A complaint has also been sent to the Chennai Police Commissioner. Thuppakki , which means gun, with the tag line 'You don't shoot to kill but to stay alive' is slated for an Independence Day release and has Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead. Vijay is presently busy in the film 'Thuppakki', which is written and directed by Director A.R.Murugadoss. It is produced by S.Thanu under the banner V.Creations. This movie features Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal, Jayaram, Sathyan and many others. The music is by Harris Jayaraj. Certain artists have some good habits in them. Some habits would be very good that, even others can or should follow in their life too. Similarly, A.R.Murugadoss has found a very good habit with Vijay. I will commence the shooting once Vijay completes Thuppaki directed by A R Murugadoss. Vijay will be the only Tamilian in this film. The heroine will be an Indian. Rest of the actors and actresses will be foreigners. This is a Tamil film. This film will be of an International standard and will be released worldwide with English sub titles. A R Rahman is composing the music for this film. If I am able to establish the character Yohan, I will continue to make Chapter 1, 2 and 3 like James Bond films."  

'Thupaki' is getting shape really fast, one has to say. Director AR Murugadoss, who normally takes time to complete his films, is shaping up the Vijay-starrer on a fast track and 60 per cent of the shooting is over so far. "Four songs and some talkie portions remain to be shot, which we will be doing soon," says Murugadoss, who is planning to start the Hindi version of the movie (with Akshay Kumar in the lead), by August. 'Thupaki' would have been completed by this time, if there was no break in the shooting. The tussle between the producers and workers halted the shooting schedule for some time, resulting in the movie's delay. Being produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, 'Thupaki' has Kajal Aggarwal as heroine. Buzz is that Vijay is playing a police officer in this action entertainer. Music is being composed by Harris Jayaraj.  

With even before the first look stills of Vijay's Thupakki would get released there have been tough competitions to bag the satellite rights of the movie. Recently Vijay Tv and Sun Tv had a battle to get the satellite rights of Nanban starring Vijay, Ileana, Jeeva, Srikanth, Sathyan, Sathyaraj which is directed by S Shankar. Finally it is Vijay Tv who won the battle and took home the satellite rights of Vijay's Nanban for a record price . But, Sources say that this time Sun Tv is not going to make any compensation to bag the rights of Thupakki, which has Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in the lead and directed by AR Murugadoss.

Vijay's Nanban which got released a day before Pongal has reached its 50 successful days.   The opening Collections of Nanban are said to have beaten Vijay's earlier ventures. Also Nanban is lined up in the queue of earlier Box-office Biggies likeEnthiran, Sivaji, Dasavatharam, Mankatha, Velayutham.   Nanban is the remake of Bollywood Blockbuster 3 Idiots and directed by S Shankar in Tamil. Actor Vijay who had been donning lead roles in the films is going to become a producer soon. Vijay is going to remake the Tamil film Sattam Oru Iruttarai which was earlier directed by his father S A Chandrasekaran. This film gave Vijayakanth a break.
