Good news for all Vijay's fans out there! The distribution rights of Kaavalan for some important districts in Tamil Nadu have been handed over to Aascar Ravichandran.

Media houses in Chennai were gripped with a rumor Thursday evening that actor Vijay would anytime called on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa.

Expectations are deliberately higher for Vijay’s ‘Kaavalan’ as the film is reported of being completely different from his previous movies.

Kaavalan’s release may be shifted to Pongal. The producer is contemplating on the Pongal release because Dhanush’s Aadukalam is also slated to hit the screens on the same day. It would be an apt competition, feel the makers of Kaavalan.

Good news for all Vijay fans. Vijay’s 51st film Kaavalan is all set to be released for this Diwali. As per sources Kaavalan is in the heels of completion and the producers are planning to release the film for this Diwali. Recently the scenes involving Vijay and Asin were shot in the campus of VIT College in Vellore. According to the sources, it has been revealed that filmmaker – producer Sakthi Chidambaram may acquire the rights of this film and release it under his banner of Cinema Paradise. Vidhyasagar has scored music for this film and his previous albums with Vijay (Thirumalai, Ghilli and Kuruvi) have been chartbusters. The film also features Raj Kiran and Roja in vital roles with Vadivelu taking care of comedy portions.

Tamannah has cleared the air by saying that no one had approached her so far to play the female protagonist in the Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’, which would be directed by Shankar. “No, the reports are not true. I have not been offered the role so far,” the actress says, adding: “The Hindi original is a huge hit and I am hopeful that the Tamil version too will be equally big.” Interestingly, if the role is offered to Tamannah, she would for the second time play a character played by Kareena Kapoor. The first time was in ‘Kanden Kadhalai’, which was inspired by ‘Jab We Met’. Buzz is that the Tamil version of ‘3 Idiots’ would bring together Shankar and Vijay for the first time. Music will be by Harris Jayaraj. Remember Shankar worked as an associate to Vijay’s father S A Chandrasekaran before becoming a director.

Vijay's latest film ‘Velayudham’ directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja started rolling yesterday. The film is currently progressing in and around locations in Hyderabad. A special set was erected at the world famous Golconda fort and the shoot started in that. ‘Jayam’ Raja is filming the climax fight. Earlier Vijay's 2004 film 'Thirumali' was also shot in this historical fort location. The attractive images of Vijay all dressed like a super man Robinhood with guns and swords in the launch invite materials are going to be from this climax fighting sequence.
