Nanban team praised Vijay

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's pongal release is Nanban. Recently the audio launch ofNanban took place where everyone started praising for one reason.   It's about Vijay's punctuality on the sets. SJ Suryah actor-director came up on stage and started to share his experience inNanban.   He specially mentioned about Vijay's punctuality, stating that right from the days of Kushi, Vijay will be on the sets earlier than the allotted time and still he pursues the same.   When director Shankar came up on stage he said 'I see Vijay next to Rajini sir in terms of punctuality'.    If the shooting is starts by 7:30am Vijay will be ready with his makeup by 6:50 he added. About Nanban speaks Vijay

Vijay is shooting for A R Murugadoss' Thuppaki in Mumbai. But his heart full ofNanban, that is all set for release this January.    A remake of Hindi hit Three Idiots; the movie is directed by Shankar.Says Vijay, ' I had watched Three Idiots with my family atMayajaal and enjoyed it to the hilt. But never did I think I would be part of its Tamil trip.    When the offer came my way, I was skeptical and told director Shankar so. 'This kind of film is new to me too. But I'm sure you'll be apt for the role,' he said.'   'It was a great experience. Most of the shooting was at Dehradun and it was fun working withSrikanth and Jeeva.'

Nanban to release ahead of Vettai ?

The latest buzz in the trade sources is that Shankar's magnum opus Nanban which has Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth , Satyraj,S.J.Suryah,Ileana and Anunya in the lead will be released on January 12th which gives two days ahead of other two releases Vettai and 3. Nanban has also cleared the censor board with a clean ' U' certificate .The entire album has become a huge hit among the listeners giving building more expectation around the movie. A insider reveals that the production house Gemini Film Circuits is busy getting the theatres for a solo release for these two days which may give Nanban a flying start comparing to the other two releases.

First release Nanban next Vettai movie release

Sources say that Nanban and Vettai will not clash with each other. Earlier it was said that both the films will release on the same day as a pongal release.    But now it seems like Nanban will release on Jan 12 and Vettai will release on Jan 14 having a gap of one day.   Both the teams are looking for a healthy competition says trade circles. So Vijayfans can see their Ilayathalapathy after 11days of the New year.   Nanban is directed by S Shankar with Vijay, Jeeva, Srikanth, Ileana, Sathyaraj in the main roles. Whereas Vettai is directed by Lingusamy with Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul. Both the films have created major hype for their multi star cast.

Raj Kiran and Roja in Kavalkaran

The Vijay-Asin starrer Kavalkaran went on floors recently and shooting is going on in full swing in Karaikudi region in Tamil Nadu. Director Siddique has roped in several well-established actors and actresses to play important roles in the film. Earlier, Raj Kiran was signed up to play Asin’s dad in the film. The news now is that Roja will pair up with Raj Kiran to play the leading lady’s mom. This means, Raj Kiran and Roja will be Vijay’s parents-in-law in Kavalkaran.

Vijay-Asin together again

Asin, who moved to Bollywood in 2008, is likely to make a comeback to Tamil cinema this year. She has reportedly been signed for the Vijay's movie which is the remake of Malayalam hit 'Bodyguard' starring Dileep and Nayantara. Sivaraju Venkatraju, who last made 'Priymanavale' with Vijay in 2000 will produce this new film. Siddique who directed the original will direct the Tamil version also. Siddique and Vijay combination earlier rocked in the comedy riot ‘Friends’. For Asin this film is a sort of comeback to Tamil. After her first Hindi film ‘Ghajini’ with Aamir Khan becoming super hit, her next film ‘London Dreams’ with Salman Khan bombed. So she is desperate to keep her top star status and image intact. But of course Asin never said she will not do a Tamil film after moving to Bollywood. Asin and Vijay pair was very successful with films like 'Pokkiri' and 'Sivakasi' doing wonders at the box office. Kaavalkaran title changed to Kaavalan

Vijay’s new film with Siddique has gone for a title change for the third time. When the film started had the MGR film title ‘Kaavalkaran’ hoping to cash in on the ever green popularity of MGR films. But when the original producers of the MGR movie Sathya Movies objected, the title was changed to ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’. But the second title did not find encouraging reactions from even among Vijay fans. So now the title has been again changed to ‘Kaavalan’. Another major development with the film according to sources is that director Shakthi Chidambaram has purchased the film lock stock and barrel including its negative rights. This sudden development has taken many by surprise. When most of the Tamil community is up in arms against the film because of Asin and the overseas business is in threat, Shakthi Chidambaram’s move is being viewed with mixed reaction.
