Good news for all Vijay fans. Vijay’s 51st film Kaavalan is all set to be released for this Diwali. As per sources Kaavalan is in the heels of completion and the producers are planning to release the film for this Diwali. Recently the scenes involving Vijay and Asin were shot in the campus of VIT College in Vellore. According to the sources, it has been revealed that filmmaker – producer Sakthi Chidambaram may acquire the rights of this film and release it under his banner of Cinema Paradise. Vidhyasagar has scored music for this film and his previous albums with Vijay (Thirumalai, Ghilli and Kuruvi) have been chartbusters. The film also features Raj Kiran and Roja in vital roles with Vadivelu taking care of comedy portions.

Tamannah has cleared the air by saying that no one had approached her so far to play the female protagonist in the Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’, which would be directed by Shankar. “No, the reports are not true. I have not been offered the role so far,” the actress says, adding: “The Hindi original is a huge hit and I am hopeful that the Tamil version too will be equally big.” Interestingly, if the role is offered to Tamannah, she would for the second time play a character played by Kareena Kapoor. The first time was in ‘Kanden Kadhalai’, which was inspired by ‘Jab We Met’. Buzz is that the Tamil version of ‘3 Idiots’ would bring together Shankar and Vijay for the first time. Music will be by Harris Jayaraj. Remember Shankar worked as an associate to Vijay’s father S A Chandrasekaran before becoming a director.

This is all because the actor feels the title ‘Vaanam’ looks plain and doesn’t suit the film’s theme. Vijay’s new film with Siddique has gone for a title change for the third time. When the film started had the MGR film title ‘Kaavalkaran’ hoping to cash in on the ever green popularity of MGR films. But when the original producers of the MGR movie Sathya Movies objected, the title was changed to ‘Kaaval Kaadhal’. But the second title did not find encouraging reactions from even among Vijay fans. So now the title has been again changed to ‘Kaavalan’. Another major development with the film according to sources is that director Shakthi Chidambaram has purchased the film lock stock and barrel including its negative rights. This sudden development has taken many by surprise. When most of the Tamil community is up in arms against the film because of Asin and the overseas business is in threat, Shakthi Chidambaram’s move is being viewed with mixed reaction.
